A woman has drowned at the confluence of Maikhola and Sardare rivers in Maidhar, Shivasatakshi Municipality-10.
Bimala Majhi, 62, was found dead in a prone position in Maikhola at 9:20 am on Tuesday. Police reached the spot after receiving information about the incident and after completing the necessary legal procedures, the body was sent to Amda Hospital, Damak for postmortem, according to Jhapa police.
Police said further investigation into the cause of death is underway.
