An agreement was reached between Pragya Pratishthan Chancellor Bhupal Rai and Municipality Chairman Asim Rai to move forward with a concrete program to protect and promote local languages, literature and arts.
In a discussion program coordinated by Thulung Dudhkoshi Pragya Pratishthan and organized by the rural municipality, Chancellor Rai said that Pragya Pratishthan has been formed in only 52 local levels across the country and that it is sad that other local levels across the country are not investing in the field of arts. 'Our goal is to expand our activities at local levels across the country, but most levels have not given priority to language, art and culture,' said Chancellor Rai.
In the program, Municipality Chairman Rai expressed the view that not only physical development but also social development has been moving forward simultaneously. He said that for the first time in the district, Pragya Pratishthan is being formed and literary activities are being conducted.
In the program facilitated by the Greater Oganem Area Development Committee, Bhojpur's Ram Prasad Rai Rural Municipality Chairman Tham Bahadur Rai, Vice Chairman Birendra Rai and others emphasized the upliftment of the art sector, said Subash Sangam Rai, coordinator of the local foundation.
Local poets, writers, artists and intellectuals participated in the discussion, informed Bhojraj Karki, spokesperson of the municipality.
