Police have arrested a man in Khotang on charges of hanging a dog to death.
Baburam Magar, 44, of Halesi Tuwachung Municipality-2, has been arrested.
Local Jas Kumar Rai's dog had bitten Dal Bahadur Rai of the same place. Magar told the police that he thought his dog would bite a person too and hanged him last Friday. He was taken into custody on Saturday afternoon, said Police Inspector Raju Bista, Information Officer at the District Police Office, Khotang.
'The magar will be brought to the District Police Office on Sunday and a case will be registered for animal cruelty and preparations are being made to extend his term,' he said.
