The awards were presented at a program organized at Khumaltar, Lalitpur on Saturday to mark the 43rd anniversary of the Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST).
Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality has been awarded the Bhubaneswar Technology Award-2082.
The award was given at a program organized at Khumaltar in Lalitpur on Saturday on the occasion of the 43rd anniversary of the Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST). The award was given along with a cash prize of Rs 25,000 for its contribution to the environment and conservation, including commercial production, promotion, conservation, skill development, marketing, development of handicrafts, entrepreneurship, and environmental protection of bamboo products, said Tirtha Raj Bhattarai, Mayor of Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality.
‘Our municipality was awarded out of 753 local levels based on the evaluation conducted on various indicators of environmental conservation, water resource management, biodiversity, education, service delivery, good governance, transparency, technical facilities and overall development,’ said Bhattarai.
The award was handed over by Minister for Education, Science and Technology and NAST Vice-Chancellor Mahabir Pun. Bhattarai said that the 49th Academic Assembly of NAST, held on November 12 under the chairmanship of NAST Chancellor Prime Minister Sushila Karki, decided to give Diktel Rupakot to Majhuwagadhi Municipality.
