District Coordination Committee Chief Tshiring Lama has joined the UML. He reached the UML party office on Tuesday afternoon and was welcomed into the party by Politburo member Til Kumar Menyangbo and others with food and garlands.

It is said that other cadres have also joined the party along with Lama. Lama S, who was the head of the District Coordination Committee from CPN-S, returned to UML after the Maoist Center and the Nepali Communist Party formed the Nepali Communist Party. ‘When I was coming here and returning home, some people asked me what my position would be,’ Lama said, ‘I have said that the position will go away.’

He said that he has been active in politics since his student days. ‘I was in UML before, through ANRFSU, the then ML, and I returned to this because I found nationalism and democracy in UML after the Gen-G movement,’ he said at the program.

He claimed that he did not ask for any position in UML. Lama had also become the district president of CPN-S after the UML split.

CPN-S district president Durgahang Shrengchongbang, central members Khem Vanem, Nita Siva, and others have participated in the unification process. They also participated in the unity rally held in Biratnagar.
