Police have arrested two prisoners who escaped from Jhumka Prison in Jhapa. A joint team of plainclothes personnel deployed from the Area Police Office, Kakadbhitta and the District Police Office, Jhapa, took them into custody.
Those arrested are Madan Pokharel, 52, and Uttam Thakuri, 58, who are serving prison sentences in a revenue fraud case. They had escaped from prison on Bhadra 24, 2082 during the 'Gen-G' movement.
The District Police Office, Jhapa, has stated that both of them were arrested while hiding in their own homes on the basis of a special tip-off. The police have informed that preparations are being made to send them to the concerned prison for necessary action.
