Police have arrested five people on charges of involvement in the vandalism, arson, and robbery incident that occurred at the Itahari Area Police Office on Bhadra 10.
The police identified them based on video and photo evidence of the incident and took them into custody on Wednesday, said Chandra Khadka, spokesperson of the District Police Office.
According to Spokesperson Khadka, the arrestees have been remanded in custody of the District Police Office for criminal nuisance and investigation is underway.
The arrested are Bijay Limbu, 29, of Itahari Sub-metropolitan City-3, Madan Khatri, 47, of Bhojpur Yangpang-7 and currently residing in Itahari Sub-metropolitan City-4, Dipendra Kumar Karki, 44, of Itahari Sub-metropolitan City-5, Abhas Karki, 24, of Itahari Sub-metropolitan City-8, and Sonam Karki, 24, of Itahari Sub-metropolitan City-4, the police said.
According to the police, some were taken into custody from their homes while others were arrested from the street. Spokesperson Khadka said that the search for other people involved in the same incident is ongoing.
