The fruit processing center, which was built two years ago in Nerpa, Majhuwagadhi Municipality-6, Rupakot, Khotang-Diktel, is not yet operational.

The processing center, which was established in 2080/81 with the aim of processing various fruits including kiwi, has not yet been operational. Out of the 10 million budget of Rs 5 million from the federal government and Rs 5 million from the municipality, a building contract was awarded in 2080/81 for Rs 8.412 million. The building has been constructed and handed over by Sudevi Construction Pvt. Ltd. Last fiscal year, Rs 2 million was spent on the structure of the building from the provincial government's budget. The contract for the work was taken by SR Construction.

Although the building and fruit processing equipment have been prepared, bottles are needed for packaging and for that, a budget of Rs 1.7 million has been allocated for bottle-making equipment in the current fiscal year and the procurement process has been increased through a contract, said Tej Prakash Jaisi, head of the municipality's agriculture branch. He said that the processing center will be operational as soon as the equipment arrives.

‘The building and fruit processing equipment have been prepared, but since bottles are needed for packaging, the procurement process has been accelerated through a contract by allocating a budget of 1.7 million for the bottle-making machine in the current fiscal year,’ said Jaisi. ‘The processing center will be operational as soon as that machine arrives.’
