This year's Manram-ESKAJ Journalism Award will be presented to senior journalist Govinda Pokharel. The Manram-ESKAJ Journalism Award Selection Committee meeting decided to present the award to Pokharel, informed Shankar Khanal, President of Sankhuwasabha-Kathmandu Journalists Association.
Pokharel was born in Tumlingtar, Khandbari Municipality-9, Sankhuwasabha. Senior journalist Pokharel has dedicated his entire life to journalism. In memory of the late Ram Bahadur Shrestha, a social worker from Khandbari-1, for his vision for social development and his dedication to society, this award is being presented every year to journalists who have played an important role in making Sankhuwasabha known at the national and international levels.
Pokharel has also served as the chairman of Gorkhapatra Sansthan and an advisor to Nepal Television. He has worked for important media outlets such as Drishti Weekly, Kantipur Media Group, Shree Sagarmatha, Sagarmatha Radio and Spacetime Daily.
The Sankhuwasabha-Kathmandu Journalists Association has stated that the award will be presented during a program in Kathmandu on Mangsir 12.
