A fugitive accused involved in the vandalism, arson, and looting of police weapons at the Area Police Office in Damak during the protest on Bhadra 10 has been arrested.
Based on the statements of the accused, the police have also recovered two stolen weapons.
Based on a special tip-off, the police arrested Sushil Fiyak (Limbu), 22, of Panchthar Miklajung Rural Municipality-3, from Damak Municipality-6 on November 2 at 1:30 pm. During initial interrogation, he had said that the stolen weapons were hidden in a cave in Arubote, Lamagaun, Panchthar Miklajung-3.
Based on his statement, the police, deployed in coordination with the District Police Office, Panchthar, recovered the weapons and ammunition hidden from the said location.
One Mark-3 rifle with a magazine bearing serial number 62038, one INSAS SLR with a magazine bearing serial number 031102739, without a magazine, with the butt and hand grip burnt, and three bullets, the police said.
