In Panchthar, 3,574 livestock have been vaccinated against cholera.

The cattle were vaccinated against cholera in coordination with the Veterinary Hospital and Animal Service Expert Center and local levels.

In the vaccination campaign that began on Kartik 23 in the district, 3,574 farmers from 1,046 farmers were vaccinated, informed Niraj Kumar Bhattarai, Information Officer of the Veterinary Hospital and Animal Service Expert Center. According to him, the maximum number of cattle from Hilihang Rural Municipality have been vaccinated.

A campaign is currently being conducted in various districts to make Koshi Province free from cholera. As part of this, the campaign to be conducted in Panchthar until Mangsir 23 aims to vaccinate 66,000 cattle.

The vaccination is being done for cows, buffaloes and goats with the aim of promoting the export of dairy products. Although the vaccinated cattle usually have fever and shivering problems, farmers have reported that no serious side effects have been observed.

They say that some animals developed mild fever within 24 hours of vaccination but recovered.
