According to Morang police, the vehicle heading from Biratnagar to Birat Chowk hit a motorcycle (No. Ko 9 Pa 79) that was crossing the road.
Chaudhary, who was seriously injured in the hit by the speeding vehicle, was rescued by locals and sent to Birat Nursing Home. Doctors declared him dead at 3:15 pm during treatment.
Leader Angbo was not in the vehicle when the accident occurred. According to the police, the accident occurred when the vehicle was on its way to pick up his relatives. The driver of the Scorpio, Gambhirman Sarki, 40, of Falgunanda Rural Municipality-1, Panchthar, who hit him, has been taken into custody by the police and further investigation has been initiated, said Inspector Rajiv Giri of the Area Police Office, Belbari.
According to police spokesperson DSP Kopila Chundal, further investigation into the accident is underway.
