Two people have been arrested with firearms and ammunition stolen from the Birtamod Area Police Office during the Gen-G movement.

A joint police team deployed from the Narcotics Bureau Unit, Kakadbhitta, and the Area Police Office, Birtamod, recovered bullets from a room in Ramchowk, Birtamod Municipality-2 on Wednesday.

According to the police, 38 rounds of SLR and 16 rounds of INSAS rifle bullets were recovered from the room of 27-year-old Israp Khatun, a resident of Chakchaki, Barhadashi Rural Municipality-4, and a resident of Ramchowk, Birtamod-2.

Similarly, a bronze plate, a bitter gourd, a brass glass, and a pair of police boots were also found in the room, according to the police. According to the police, 22-year-old Bikash Tudu of Birtamod-2, Jhapa, was also arrested on charges of involvement in the looting of goods.

During the Gen-G agitation on Bhadra 23 and 24, weapons were looted from the Area Police Office, Birtamod. Police said that both the arrested persons have been kept in custody and further investigation is underway.
