After the Koshi Provincial Assembly building, which was destroyed by vandalism, arson and looting during the protests on Bhadra 24, was no longer usable, both the Provincial Assembly and the Secretariat have now been moved to the Krishi Bazaar building in Katahari Rural Municipality on Wednesday. Both the Provincial Assembly meetings and the Secretariat will be conducted here.

Although preparations were made to use Birendra Hall in Biratnagar as an alternative meeting venue, after observing that the place was not suitable for use, it was decided to move both the meeting and the secretariat to the Krishi Bhawan premises in Katahari.

The decision was taken by the Secretariat Management and Operations Committee meeting chaired by Speaker Ambar Bahadur Bista, informed Niroj Dhakal, Information Officer of the Secretariat.

During the protest on Bhadra 24, the permanent building of the Provincial Assembly was completely destroyed from the meeting hall to the secretariat office.

After that, the assembly and administrative work were completely halted.

The seventh session of the Koshi Provincial Assembly ended on Asoj 10. According to the secretariat, preparations are now underway to hold the upcoming eighth session in Katahari.
