Locals of Tirpa, Lamidanda, Rawabesi Rural Municipality-3 have raised salaries for teachers by playing Deusi. After Rawabesi Rural Municipality removed a teacher from Tirpa-based Gupteshwor Basic School, who was appointed on a contract basis, the locals themselves raised salaries for her by playing Deusi.
The contract agreement of Laxmi Majhi was cancelled by the village executive on Asoj 25 with effect from Kartik 1. After the rural municipality dismissed Majhi, the school principal Dhanesh Babu Pandey said that money was raised by playing Deusi to pay her salary. She will teach at the same school.
‘After the rural municipality decided to remove the contract teacher, the village youths arranged for the salary by playing Deusi,’ Pandey said, ‘The youths of seven groups of the village have raised money to pay one month’s salary by playing Deusi, and it has been decided to deposit it in the school’s account on Mangsir 10.’
A mathematics teacher was appointed from the rural municipality’s resources in 2076 BS. Bina Bishwakarma Diktel, who was working in the post, was appointed to the post in the relief position at Annapurna Secondary School in Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality-8, Buwalung. Rawabesi Rural Municipality has canceled the contract services of 34 people, including 18 teachers and 14 employees, according to Rural Municipality Chairman Phatik Kumar Shrestha.
