The officials of the Khotang Chamber of Commerce and Industry have submitted a memorandum to Finance Minister Rameshwor Khanal through the Chief District Officer to not implement the decision to abolish the Taxpayer Service Office. The memorandum was sent to Finance Minister Khanal through Chief District Officer Kalpana Shrestha on Sunday.
Rajan Acharya, Chairman of the Khotang Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that if the Taxpayer Service Office is removed from Khotang, it will deprive people of tax-related services, adversely affect the district's business environment, negatively affect local economic activities, and affect the culture of paying taxes. He said that the memorandum was submitted because if the Taxpayer Service Office in Diktel is removed, the residents of the district will have to bear additional expenses and the residents of remote districts will have to suffer other hardships.
