An awareness campaign has been launched in Sunsari with the aim of protecting children from drug addiction and making them responsible citizens. The Armed Police Force Nepal No. 4 Battalion Headquarters, Sunsari, launched the program from the National Secondary School in Laukahi, a border area.
On Sunday, the Armed Police Force Nepal, Superintendent of Police of No. 4 Battalion Headquarters, Sunsari, organized an awareness class targeting students studying in grades 9 and 10 of the National Secondary School attached to Laukahi Chhoti Bhansar, informed Nirmal Thapa.
Thapa said that the Armed Police Force has conducted awareness classes in schools near the border area targeting the Laukahi checkpoint in Sunsari, which has recently become a hotbed for drug abuse.
The school-centered program near the border is planned to be expanded to other schools with the aim of preventing youth from getting involved in drug trafficking and addiction along with theft and smuggling from the border area. Sunsari, which shares a 62-kilometer border with India, has 9 BOPs and 2 proposed border security camps.
