Gen-G demands establishment of immigration and customs at Tiptala border crossing

The Gen-G group has pressed for the operation of the Tiptala Bhanjyang border crossing on the Nepal-China border. They are demanding the immediate establishment of an immigration and customs office for the operation of this border crossing.

In the first phase, they discussed with the political parties, administration, industrialists and traders of the district and submitted a memorandum to the District Administration Office and made this demand.

They say that they are now planning to go to the federal capital Kathmandu to draw the attention of the Finance Minister and the Prime Minister. The memorandum sent by Gen-G to the government through Chief District Officer Shivaraj Sedhai has four points of demand.

In the first point, it is demanded that the main customs office located in Olangchunggola, Faktanglung Rural Municipality-7 be deputed within 15 days and start functioning. In the second demand, it is proposed to make arrangements for all citizens of the district to receive Nepal-China border pass identity cards.

Third, it is demanded that the Tamor Corridor Road (Moolghat-Dobhan-Olangchunggola) be upgraded and a bailey bridge be constructed to make the shortest distance north-south (Rani-Tipatala) road in the east an important trade point.

The fourth and final proposal is that there is a possibility of constructing a port in Mauwatar, Faktanglung-7 and since a study has been conducted, it has been demanded to proceed with the work immediately.

A district-level Genji group has also been formed under the coordination of Gopal Guragain to conduct the pressure campaign.
