Jesus Martinez Novas, who had set out for a trek towards Solukhumbu from Makalu Base Camp in Makalu Rural Municipality of Sankhuwasabha, was rescued from the Sherpinikole area (5,700 meters altitude) of the trekking route.

Police said he had been stranded in the area since Kartik 11 due to adverse weather conditions. He was rescued by a private helicopter service provider company, EG Heli Charter Service, at 8:30 am on Sunday, said DSP Kumar Prasad Mainali, Chief of the District Police Office, Sankhuwasabha. 

The rescue team safely evacuated him from Sherpinikol, a high-mountainous area in Sankhuwasabha, and took him to Dingboche, Khumbu Pasanglhamu Rural Municipality-4, Solukhumbu, he said. Novash had been stranded in the area for six days due to continuous snowfall and bad weather.

The Spanish Embassy, ​​police administration and private rescue companies had coordinated to search for him, who has been missing since Kartik 11.
