Five eastern roads blocked due to incessant rains have not yet been reopened. The Tamor Corridor, which has been blocked since Friday morning due to damage caused by flooding in the Nawa River, has not been cleared, while the Phidim-Falout road section, which was blocked by flooding in the Feme River, is still closed.
The rain has not stopped here yet. Due to this, the road has not been opened, according to the Infrastructure Development Office, Panchthar.
Similarly, landslides have occurred in places on the Ranke-Rabi-Bhedetar road section, which has been blocked for three days. This road has also been blocked since Friday morning due to landslides in the Tehrathum section of the Mid-Hill Highway. The District Police Office, Tehrathum, has stated that the obstruction on this road section has started to be removed.
Similarly, the obstruction on the Rajduwali section of the Mechi Highway is also still in place. The road, which was made operational by the Road Division Office, Ilam, the previous day, collapsed again at night, so transport and transportation vehicles have not been able to operate.
A technical team has been deployed to assess the damage here, and passengers have been urged not to travel on this road until further notice, informed Pawan Bhattarai, Chief of the Road Division, Ilam.
