Ten people were injured when a Bolero and two motorcycles collided at Deumai-1, Kukhure on the Mechi Highway, with one in critical condition. The driver is under control.
Ten people were injured when a jeep heading from Aathrai in Tehrathum towards Birtamod in Jhapa and a motorcycle coming from Ilam towards Panchthar collided.
The accident occurred when a Bolero (Mei 1 Ja 3137) and two motorcycles (Province 1-01-016 Pa 1367) collided at a place called Kukhure, Deumai Municipality-1, Ilam along the Mechi Highway, according to the District Police Office, Ilam.
Sushila Timalsina, 30, of Garamuni, Birtamod Municipality-6, Jhapa, Chhabilal Gurung, 65, of Aathrai-1, Tehrathum, and Prakash Sherpa, 30, of Dammar Kumari Gurung, 64, of Aathrai Triveni-1, Taplejung, and Indra Gurung, 30, of Anjana Gurung, 28, of Anjana Gurung, 32, of Sushma Limbu, 32, of Dhankuta, and Asina Tamang, 23, of Sidin, Phalelung, Panchthar, and Chandrakala Kalikote, 27, of Buddhashanti-4, Jaipur, Jhapa, and the motorcycle driver, Laxmi Prasad Mainali, 36, of Hilihang, Panchthar, were injured in the accident.
According to Ilam police, the condition of Sushila Timalsina among the injured is critical, while the condition of the other injured is normal.
After the accident, the police have taken the jeep driver, Rabin Tamang of Tehrathum Aathrai, into custody and started an investigation. Tamang has also been injured in the accident. The police have initially concluded that the jeep fell off the road after a collision between a Bolero and a motorcycle found on a narrow road.
