Two people have been arrested with copper wire during the search for a missing transformer in Phungling. The court has extended their remand and the investigation is ongoing.

Police have arrested two people on charges of stealing an electrical transformer. According to the District Police Office, Taplejung, the arrested have been identified as Phupunamge Sherpa, 33, of Mikwakhola Rural Municipality-4, Sawa, and Ait Bahadur Limbu, 39, of Sawadin, Faktanglung Rural Municipality-1.
They were arrested by the police with stolen electrical equipment. According to Police Inspector and Information Officer Bivek Basnet, the transformer placed near Nageshwori Aapgachhi in Phungling Municipality-2 went missing on Kartik 20. Basnet informed that during the search, they were arrested along with two rolls of wrapped copper wire and two coiled wires.
The police have extended their remand from the district court and have started the necessary investigation process.
