Rupa Rai, an office assistant at Suryodaya Municipality in Ilam, has passed away after being seriously injured in a road accident while returning home from work.

Rai was seriously injured when a pickup van hit the auto she was riding in while returning home from the office on Saturday, Asoj 20. Rai had reached the office to facilitate the disaster relief work even though Saturday was a public holiday.
The injured Rai was sent to B&C Hospital for treatment and was sent home from there on Sunday. Rai, who was brought from Jhapa and re-tested at Fikkal Hospital, was taken to the Neuro Hospital and died there on Monday.
Rai's family members objected to the social media tributes saying that she had passed away while she was undergoing treatment.
