Preparations have been completed in Udayapur for the Chhath festival, which will be celebrated with joy in the Terai/Madhesh. The Chhath Festival Service Committee has stated that the construction of ghats has been completed on rivers including the Triyuga River and the Tawa River in Katari in the district.
But the Chhath Sewa Committee has become controversial after setting a fee of Rs 600 per meter for the ghat built near the bus park in Triyuga Municipality-11.
Chhath Sewa Committee Coordinator Chandan Shah said that the fee had to be charged because of the cost of constructing the structure for the ghat.
