A road connecting Mitlung from the district headquarters Phungling via Tukre-Hangdewa has come into operation. According to Constituent Assembly member and Hangdewa resident Sanchapal Maden, the road has been brought into operation from today with the support of the Tamor Mewa Hydropower Project.
This road was blocked due to landslides in various places with the onset of the rainy season. Those using vehicles were forced to go around Handrung.
Maden informed that transport can be operated via this route from today. Maden said that Tamor Mewa accepted the request made by him and the community after other bodies ignored it and opened the road.
This road connecting the northern region from the district headquarters is very short.
This road leads to the Nepal-China border at Tiptala Bhanjyang via the Phaktanglung rural municipality center, Tapethok, Lelep, and Olangchung Gola. The road from Lelep to Olangchung Gola is still blocked.
