The District Administration Office issued a notice on Friday, stating that Deusi-Bhailo will be played only until 8 pm due to security concerns during the festival. Chief District Officer Prem Prasad Lamsal has urged all the residents of the district to celebrate the festival in a civilized, dignified and traditional manner.
The administration has requested the general public to maintain peace, security and social harmony on the occasion of Tihar and Chhath festivals. The administration has also banned alcohol, gambling, cards, unnecessary crowds, the use of firecrackers and other explosives.
Everyone has been warned not to spread rumors, post anti-social activities on social media and spread false information during the festival.
The administration has warned of strict legal action against those who damage public property, increase prices, sell and distribute non-food items in black marketing or distribution. The administration has also requested the youth not to form groups of motorcycle riders and to follow the instructions of security personnel.
