A diversion has been constructed on the Muwa River under the Phidim-Falout road section, which was blocked due to floods. The diversion was constructed here by the Falelung Rural Municipality.
The road section from Phidim, the district headquarters of Panchthar, to Phalot, which connects the border with West Bengal, India, via Nangin Yangnam Sidin, was closed to traffic and transportation services since October 18 after the diversion of the Muwa River overflowed. Meanwhile, the rural municipality has reopened the road by mobilizing excavators.
Due to the obstruction of the road in the Muwa River, citizens of Phangwung-5 were forced to reach Phidim via Memeng and Ektin Jor Pokhari, and there was difficulty in transporting food and daily necessities.
