Tirtharaj Bhattarai, Mayor of Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality, said that a letter has been sent to make the details of assets public as it is necessary for those who receive services and facilities from the state treasury to be ethically transparent.
Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality has written to the current and outgoing elected public representatives of the municipality, including the ones who are elected to the municipality, to submit their asset details. The letter was sent after the municipal executive meeting on Asoj 28 decided to make the asset details of all public representatives, advisors, secretaries and employees public.
Tirtharaj Bhattarai, Mayor of Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality, said that the letter was sent after the decision to make the asset details of current and former executive members, advisors, secretariat and employees public since it is necessary for those who receive services from the state treasury to be morally transparent.
After the decision to make the asset details of himself, including the deputy mayor, all executive members, outgoing executive members, advisors, secretariat and employees public, the letter was sent to everyone. Bhattarai said that the letter was sent to outgoing mayor Deep Narayan Rijal, deputy mayor Bina Devi Rai and all executive members of the previous term.
The decision to make the assets of all those elected to the municipality public immediately after the municipal executive meeting, and to make the allocated budget and programs public after the formation of the municipality were made public through a press conference.
"After receiving services and facilities from the state treasury, there should be ethical transparency, which is why letters have been sent to current and outgoing elected representatives, advisors, secretariats and employees to make their assets public," Bhattarai said. "In addition, the budget and programs allocated by the municipality since the previous term will also be made public in detail."
