Three girls drown in Jhapa river

Three girls died after drowning in Khajurbari, Gauradaha Municipality-9, Jhapa on Friday afternoon.

Three girls who went fishing in Krishna River around 1 pm on Friday drowned, according to the District Police Office, Jhapa. The deceased are Anju Magar's daughter, 9-year-old Sushma Magar, 7-year-old Sushma Magar, and Roman (Mote) Pariyar's 11-year-old daughter Roshni Pariyar.

Also, Rajkumar Rai's 10-year-old daughter Yunisa Rai, who was with them, managed to save her life. She informed her parents as soon as she saw the incident.

Although the parents and locals immediately pulled all three out of the water, the police have confirmed that all three have died.

Upon receiving information about the incident, a police team was deployed from the temporary police post Baigundhura and the Area Police Office Jhiljhile and further investigation is underway, the police said.
