On the third day of the incident, the Koshi state government distributed relief to the landslide victims of Ilam. The provincial government has sent relief to Ilam municipality and Mangsebung through army helicopters.
On Tuesday morning, relief materials were distributed to 26 families of Ilam-10 and 13 families of Mangsebung, said Koshi Province Home Affairs and Law Ministry Secretary Ram Prasad Acharya.
According to him, the relief materials distributed are mattresses, blankets, 150-150 pieces of silk, 250 quintals of rice, pulses and potatoes and 50-50 kg of rice per family. Similarly, edible oil, turmeric, salt, spices and other materials have also been provided, he said.
The relief materials brought to Ilam by helicopter have been distributed to two municipalities and preparations are being made to send relief materials to other places of Ilam and Jhapa shortly, he said.
Koshi Chief Minister Hikmat Kumar Karki was in Kathmandu when disasters were happening in various places including Ilam and Panchthar. Immediately after his return, the government started distributing relief.
