The East-West Highway (Asian Highway), which was blocked due to the collapse of the diversion after the incessant rain last Saturday night, has not yet been fully restored.

According to District Traffic Police Office Jhapa, although two-way traffic has been repaired and brought into operation in Bhalukhola in Sivasatakshi of the district, the diversion of Kalikhola in Mechinagar is still being repaired.

With the diversion of Balukhola flowing, vehicles were coming and going using the inner roads of the villages. After the road was restored, the trouble ended. However, District Traffic Chief Ganesh Paudel informed that due to the rise in the water level in Kalikhola, the work could not be done easily. According to him, preparations are being made to make a diversion in Kalikhola and bring it into operation soon.

It is raining in Jhapa at this time. Although the presence of passenger vehicles on the highways is less, it has been seen that the number of passengers has increased.
