Chhitek Bhote, a 42-year-old pregnant woman from Bhotkhola Rural Municipality-3, Hangung, was rescued by an army helicopter and taken to Koshi Hospital in Biratnagar for treatment after bleeding profusely on Monday.
Due to the geographical difficulty of the remote Bhotkhola area, it is difficult to get health services on time, so the rescue process has been started in coordination with the local administration, health workers and the village council. She was rescued under the President's Women Upliftment Program. This place in the northern part of the district is still not accessible by traffic.
During the rescue, after first aid, they were taken to Biratnagar by a helicopter of the Nepali Army, said Ramkumar Lamichhane, Acting Chief of the District Police.
Such rescue operations in remote areas like Bhotkhola rural municipality have played an important role in saving the lives of pregnant and new-born women.
