Due to the heavy rain since Saturday, the flow of water in Saptakoshi river has exceeded 3 lakh cusecs. The flow in the river has been continuously increasing since 6 pm on Saturday. According to the measurement made at 8 am on Sunday, the flow of water has reached 335 thousand 360 cusecs.
"Currently, the flow of water has increased three times than normal," said Chief District Officer Tuvraj Pokharel, "but there is no immediate situation to stop traffic from the bridge."
Red flags and lights are lit after the flow exceeds 150,000 cusecs in the river . Currently, 50 of the 56 gates of the barrage have been opened and the flow is still increasing, Prazia Pokharel informed.
