District Police Office Panchthar informed that landslides occurred in Phalgunand Rural Municipality-3 Prajsa Chowk, Cheese Factory, Pauwa Chowk, Chimphula and Lalikhark in Panchthar section under this highway. Similarly, the road is completely blocked due to more than a dozen landslides in Mykhola, Rajduwali and Bivlyante sections of Ilam section.
The flood in Mykhola has damaged the Belybridge of Mykhola in Ilam. The flood has also damaged the concrete bridge of the Kanchenjunga Kechna road, which is being used as an alternative to the Mechi highway. Similarly, dozens of landslides occurred in the inner roads of Ilam and Panchthar.
Some of the concrete bridges and suspension bridges on the inner roads of Ilam have been damaged, so those roads have become dangerous for travel, according to the Ilam police. On the other hand, the Tamor Corridor has also been blocked due to floods and landslides. Due to the increase in the flow of water in the river along with the rain, the traffic in the nava river of this corridor has been blocked, and landslides have occurred at various places on the same road.
Similarly, Rizal Bhir, located in Yangwarak-3 of Panchthar under Madhya Pahari Highway, also blocked the road due to a landslide, informed Rupesh Tamang, Police Inspector of District Police Office, Panchthar.
