A young man has gone missing after being swept away by the river in Khotang. 21-year-old Suman Vishwakarma of Diktel Roopakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality-15 Vijayakharak went missing after being swept away by the Hauchur river.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Prakash Budhathoki of District Police Office Khotang said that Mawli in Houchur, Rawabesi Rural Municipality-6, was swept away by the Houchur River at around 7:00 pm on Saturday.
DSP Budhathoki informed that as soon as the police received the information at 8 o'clock in the night, the police reached the spot and searched with the locals until 2 o'clock in the night.
On Sunday morning, DSP Budhathoki said that a security team including DSP Shailendra Neupane of Armed Police Halesi Gulm was deployed at the scene.
