District Administration Office Sankhuwasabha has appealed to the residents of the district to be aware of heavy rains and possible natural disasters.
Citing the Department of Water and Meteorology, the administration has said that there is a possibility of heavy rain in various parts of the country, including Sankhuwasabha, from today to the 20th. Therefore, the administration has requested to take vigilance to reduce the risk.
Through a public notice, the administration has asked the residents of areas prone to landslides and floods not to leave their homes unless necessary, to keep informed of safe places and prepare to move if necessary.
Likewise, it has been requested to keep equipment such as dozers and loaders ready so that they can be used immediately if the road is blocked, and the partner organizations are also requested to be in contact with the disaster management committee and stay on alert.
In the notice issued by Chief District Officer Srijan Thapalia on Thursday, it has been requested to immediately inform the district police office or the district emergency operation center in case of disaster related information or emergency situation.
