Provincial Assembly meetings have been affected due to the inability to find an alternative to the Provincial Assembly building, which was destroyed in the attack and arson of Gen-G protestors on August 24. The joint meeting of the major political parties, which will be held only after Dasain, has concluded the Koshi state assembly meeting.
The all-party meeting held at the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law on Tuesday agreed to convene the meeting only after Dasain due to lack of meeting hall and festivals.
Participating in the meeting, Vidya Chamling Rai, chief whip of the United Socialist Party, said that it was decided that the meeting could not be held immediately due to the lack of meeting hall. She said, "Since the hall where the meeting was held earlier was destroyed by fire, it has also been decided to search for a new place." It is said that one of the places in the agricultural market or Birendra Assembly House in Morang can be used as a temporary hall. After the meeting, the delegation of the party went to see the possible site of the meeting hall.
Government spokesperson and Minister of Internal Affairs and Law Revathiraman Bhandari said that all parties are unanimous that it is not relevant to call a meeting before Dasain. He said, "The alternative assembly hall has not been managed". So the final decision will be made only after Dasain.' The
meeting has also decided to suggest the provincial government to arrange an alternative assembly hall immediately and ensure the necessary budget. Speaker Amber Bahadur Bista, Deputy Speaker Srijan Rai, Congress Parliamentary Party Leader Uddhav Thapa, UML Chief Whip Vidur Kumar Lingthep, Maoist Chief Whip Geeta Timsina, United Socialist Chief Whip Vidya Chamling and others were present in the joint meeting.
