Another incident has come to light indicating that the illegal entry of foreign nationals through the Nepal-India border is increasing. An Indonesian woman, who has been living in Mumbai for 10 years, has been arrested at the Panitanki checkpoint on the Indo-Nepal border while trying to enter Nepal with fake Indian documents.

Indian paramilitary force SSB, on Thursday, when they stopped him and asked for his documents, it was found that both Indian Aadhaar and PAN card were fake. The real name of the arrested 51-year-old woman is Nikardek Sisiani. She is a local resident of Bali, Indonesia. However, in the Indian Aadhaar card, she mentioned herself as Ninioman Murni, 49 years old. 

She has claimed to have forged documents with the help of Indian brokers.  During the investigation, she has stated that she has traveled to Turkey, Nepal and other countries many times with Indian documents. By identifying Indian citizens  She had been living in Mumbai for years and was constantly visiting Nepal. It is not clear why she was visiting Nepal frequently. 

In the last two months alone, seven Bangladeshis have been arrested for trying to enter illegally through this Panitanki checkpoint. Khoribari Police Office of India has informed that all have been sent to jail. The Indonesian woman has also been brought to the Siliguri court for necessary investigations.

According to the local security agencies, due to cheap transportation, congestion and lack of surveillance, the eastern border is becoming an 'easy route' for the infiltration of foreign nationals. It has been found that foreigners enter Nepal illegally, especially under the pretext of eye treatment. An Indian security official has stated that increasing border infiltration has added security challenges for both Nepal and India.
