Nepali Congress Khotang member Shyam Kumar Raimathi has been accused of demanding money by showing a loaded gun. He has been dragged into the police investigation.
Shyam Kumar Rai, a member of Nepali Congress Khotang, has been dragged into the police investigation on the charge of demanding money by showing a loaded gun.
The police recovered a fake gun from Rai's house.
Last August 16th morning, a fake gun was recovered from the house of Rai who was trying to extort money from Sumo driver No. 1 J 4372 who was coming from Khami to Diktel.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Prakash Budhathoki of District Police Office, Khotang, a case has been registered against Rai who tried to extort money by showing a gun. After the
incident, absconding Rai appeared before the police on 20th of August. DSP Budhathoki says that since the gun shown during the incident and the recovered gun are different, further investigation is underway. The recovered fake gun has a rubber water pipe and a wooden press.
"Since the actual gun seen at the scene was not found, the firearms case has been postponed and a case has been filed in the gangster industry" DSP Budhathoki said - "As soon as the actual gun is found, the firearms case will be initiated."
