After the Taplejung government banned social media, the residents of the border areas have also faced problems. An uncomfortable situation has been created especially for those crossing the border.

Paktanglung Rural Municipality-7 Olangchungola, Yangma, ward no. 6 Residents of border areas including Ghunsa in Lelep go back and forth to China. There is a provision to send details to the administration there before they leave. According to Tenzing Sherpa, an employee of the

ward, the details were sent through WeChat. After being accepted by the Chinese authorities, the Nepalese went confidently. He said that now WeChat has stopped working and there is a problem in coordination with the Chinese authorities.

Since there is no good internet in Olangchungola, Tenzing used to come to a place called Jongin, which is three hours away from the settlement, and send the details. Nepal Telecom's 4G data was running there. Now the social network has stopped working.

'It would not be a problem to go because the gate is open, but it would have been better if you had sent and taken the details of those coming from there,' said outgoing ward president Tenzing Sherpa Bhote.

You can reach Tiptala Bhanjyang on the bilateral border only by walking all day from the settlement of Olangchungola. Being at an altitude of 5200 meters, it is reached by a difficult journey. From there, it is a distance of 35 km to reach Riu and Ghumti in China.

Vehicles can be removed from Chinese settlements if there is advance notice. Residents of the border area say that it is difficult because it takes a day to go by foot.
