Two prisoners died in Sunsari's Jhumka Jail

Two prisoners died in Sunsari's Jhumka Jail

Two more prisoners have died in Sunsari's Jhumka Jail. 24-year-old Sagar Rai of Dharan sub-metropolitan city-10 and 48-year-old Ramdev Urao of Gadhi rural municipality-6 of Sunsari died.

Jailer Ram Niraula said that both of them were admitted to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan after they had breathing problems and died during treatment. He said, "There was no problem with them before, they suddenly fell ill and we took them to the BP Foundation Hospital, but they died during the treatment." According to him, Uraon was taken to the BP Koirala Health Science Foundation in Dharan after he developed breathing problems on Saturday night, and he died on Monday afternoon during treatment. Jailer Niraula said that another prisoner, Rai, died on Tuesday morning.

Sunsari SP Suman Timalsina informed that the bodies of both people were taken away by their relatives. He said that after two people died in the prison on the same day, the Sunsari District Security Committee team followed up and instructed the prison administration to conduct a health camp immediately.

In just 13 days, 3 prisoners have died in Jhumka Jail. Earlier on August 4, 28-year-old Bikas Rai of Bhojpur Hatuwagadi, who was living in Dharan 12, died. He died during treatment at the BP establishment after his health deteriorated.

According to SP Timalsina, the prisoners who are serving sentences in drug cases are usually chronically ill and the number of those who get sick is also increasing. SP  Timalsina informed. Block 'A' and 'B' of Jhumka prison have 1 thousand 794 prisoners.
