According to the local police, the landslide that occurred after the rain on Sunday night has washed away about 500 meters of the road. This has completely blocked the main road leading to Bhotkhola Rural Municipality of Sankhuwasabha.
After the road was blocked, the residents of higher areas including Bhotkhola and Makalu have been hit by traffic. Locals said that there is more problem due to vehicles carrying essential materials and passengers stopping in between. Some residents are taking the risk of traveling by foot.
Naresh Jirel, engineer of the road department, said that the work of removing landslides is going on. Even before this, the Netabhir region has been known as a dangerous place for frequent landslides during the rainy season.
