When an EV van coming from Taplejung towards Birtamod met with an accident, 9 people in the van were injured. According to Jhapa Police, a van numbered Pr.1-01-001 J.4088 went out of control and had an accident on the Mechi highway section at Buddhashanti-3 Dharmakata last night.
In the accident, the driver of the van, Lakpa Thepen Sherpa of Taplejung Fungling Rural Municipality-2, and 9 passengers were injured. The injured are Sesehang Suwa, Prem Younghang, Tika Limbu, Suvma Limbu of Bhaktapur Changunarayan, Vijay Limbu, Manakumari Limbu of Jhapa Arjundhara and Manita Dhimal and Rita Dhimal of Damak.
Sherpa, the driver, has been taken into the custody of the local police office and the other injured have been brought to B&C Hospital in Birtamod for treatment, District Police Office Jhapa has informed.
