A modular bridge built on Hewa river in Panchthar section under Mechi highway has been inaugurated. Both the bridges were built by the Road Division Ilam under the federal government and the physical infrastructure and transport minister Devendra Dahal and Indian Ambassador to Nepal Navin Srivastava jointly inaugurated the bridge on Wednesday.

While inaugurating the bridge, Minister Dahal said that when the bridge was swept away by floods and landslides, there was a setback in the development process of the country as a whole. He said that the government is committed to the restoration of the flood victims and affected and the reconstruction of damaged structures.

Speaking from the seat of the chief guest at the opening event, Minister Dahal thanked the Government of India through Indian Ambassador Naveen Srivastava for providing ten bridges to connect the flood-damaged rivers and canals.

'The neighbor is the first party to help the neighbor when there is a lot of mud, the Government of India has continued the introduction of a good neighbor by providing so many bridges for the flood-affected areas,' said Minister Dahal.

Similarly, Indian Ambassador Srivastava said that since it is the neighbor's responsibility to hold the neighbor's hand and lift him up, he accepted the request of the Nepal government and provided 10 bridges worth 500 million. "India has been helping to realize the dream of prosperity and development of Nepal, an example of which is the modular bridge connected to Henwa river," he said.

He said that after the disaster in Hena, the Indian government has also provided the technology to connect the bridge here. As a good neighbor, he was committed to helping Nepal's development process continue.

The Government of India has provided a module bridge free of charge for the Henwa River, which has been suffering from floods and landslides since 2080.

The 70-meter long modular bridge was installed in 11 days by workers from India under the supervision of Road Division Ilam. This modular bridge is said to be the longest and the most advanced technology connected in Jepal so far.

Dobhan Super Saugat Light Builders took the contract for 35 million for bridge connection and structure construction.

The concrete bridge of the Henwa River was swept away by the flood of 2 June 2080. After that, the federal government took 29 days to build the Belybridge, but after it was swept away by the flood on 12th October 2081, the modular bridge, which was being connected for the second time, broke when it was about to be connected on 31st May last. In that sequence, 3 workers died and 3 others were injured.

After the bridge was swept away by the flood, the traffic in Henwa Khola area was chaotic. When there was no rain, the vehicle was diverted from the diversion, but the passengers had to suffer when the traffic was blocked when the flood came. With the inauguration, the bridge has been opened for vehicular traffic. With this, the suffering of the last three years has been removed, according to the local people.

Similarly, another Bely Bridge constructed at Puwakhola under the Kechna-Kanchenjunga (Mechi Corridor) road in Ilam was also inaugurated on Wednesday. Even the Beilibridge has been provided by the Government of India.

The bridge was installed at a cost of 1 crore 47 lakh 17 thousand 227 rupees of the federal government. According to Engineer Arjun Ghimire of Road Division Office, this bridge is 48.6 meters long.

The Kechna-Kanchenjunga road was developed as an alternative to the Mechi highway after the Belybridge was connected to Puwakhola.
