Koshi state government has brought state revenue office in Itahari into operation. Economic Affairs and Planning Minister Ram Bahadur Rana Magar inaugurated the state-level office, which was brought into operation for the first time in Koshi province, on Monday.
The office was opened with the aim of facilitating the revenue collection of the province. Minister Rana Magar informed that the office has been brought into operation from Monday to facilitate the necessary matters under the province's jurisdiction and to increase the revenue of the province. Inaugurating the
office, Minister Rana said that the office was inaugurated in view of the state government not being able to collect revenue as expected. He clarified that the office was brought into operation to increase the revenue so that the people are not burdened with taxes.
The Koshi state government achieved 98% success in setting a target of collecting 4 billion 98 crore revenue in the last financial year. In the current year, the Koshi state government has set a target of raising 5.5 billion in revenue.
At the opening ceremony of the office, Ramesh Basnet, Member of the Kosi State Assembly, Dharmendra Kumar Mishra, Chief District Officer of Sunsari, Dr. Mohan Subedi, Economic Adviser to the Chief Minister, expressed their belief that the office will provide efficient services.
