Dengue infection has been read in Khotang. Dengue has been confirmed in 12 people during the last one month.

According to Jeevan Chamlagai, Head of Health Office Khotang, only 12 people have been diagnosed with dengue in the month of July of the current financial year. Chamlagai says that two of them were referred to Kathmandu by District Hospital Khotang. 

In 2081/82, 49 people were diagnosed with dengue and in 2080/81, 95 people were diagnosed with dengue, while in the current financial year, 12 people were diagnosed with dengue in the same month, Chamlagai said.

Meanwhile, an orientation and interaction program has been organized with dengue related stakeholders on Sunday. Chamlagai said that in order to control dengue, it was decided to destroy mosquito larvae in the market and in different localities, as well as conduct a campaign for public awareness. According to him, mosquito larvae will be destroyed in Diktel market on August 2.
