A woman from Damak Municipality-1 of Jhapa has died after being attacked by a wild elephant.

46-year-old Sunita Rai, who was injured in an attack by an elephant while going for a 'morning walk' at 4:30 a.m. on the road in Damak-1 on the 11th of July, died this morning at the Neuro Hospital in Biratnagar.

His sister Kavita Rai was also attacked and injured by an elephant. According to Naveen Rai, Police Inspector of Police Office Damak, the two injured from the elephant attack were sent to Biratnagar after treatment at Damak Hospital. The injured Kavita is being treated at the same hospital.
