In Jhapa Rural Municipality-1 Lasuna, an elderly man was found dead after being tied to a tree by his neighbors after coming drunk.
According to the information provided by the Jhapa police, at 10:30 pm on Tuesday, 60-year-old Jatan Soren, a local, came near the house of his neighbor, Mahadev Tudu, drunk.
When he came to the street next to the house and started crying, the neighbors including Tudu and other locals tied the old man to a mango tree with a plastic rope. But today at 4 o'clock in the morning, he was found dead, according to the district police.
Police were deployed as soon as the information about the incident came to light. Anatalal Soren, 27-year-old son of the deceased, neighbor Mahadev Tudu, 20-year-old Lakhiram Tudu and 21-year-old Lakhiram Tudu of the same place have been arrested, police said.
Jhapa police spokesman Khagendra Bahadur Khadka informed that the search is on for other fugitives as well.
