Sunsari police arrested two people with fake Nepali notes from the Indian border post on Tuesday evening.

Those arrested with fake notes are 26-year-old Rajesh Kumar Rajak of Hanumangar Kankalini Municipality-2 of Saptari and 25-year-old Rajesh Chamar Rajak of the same Municipality-1.

The police recovered 38 fake notes worth 1000 from them. Yograj Khatiwada, Deputy Superintendent of Police, District Police Office, Sunsari, informed that 38 fake notes of Nepali 1000 were found with Rajesh, who was sitting in the back of the motorcycle numbered Lu 92 P 2380, from the border crossing.

Khatiwada said that the two people who were arrested along with the recovered fake notes have been kept in the district police office Sunsari and further investigation is underway. The police said that after investigating them, they are searching for other people involved in the fake currency transaction.

In Sunsari, large quantity of counterfeit notes have been recovered many times before, but the police has not been able to reach the main gang.
