A pregnant woman from Panchthar was rescued by a helicopter and sent to Kathmandu after she could not give birth.
Village Chairman Baburam Khadka informed that 20-year-old Muna Kurumwang of Tumbeva Rural Municipality-5 Hangum, who was suffering from high blood pressure and body tremors, was rescued by a helicopter on Saturday afternoon after delivery was not possible at the local health institution.
According to Khadka, doctors diagnosed Muna with high blood pressure and hearing problems (pre-eclampsia). To rescue her, a helicopter of the Nepali Army came to Tumbeva through the President's Women's Air Upliftment Program on the initiative and request of Tumbeva Rural Municipality and the recommendation of District Administration Office Panchthar.
Village chairman Khadka, who was in Kathmandu for special work, arrived in Hangum from Kathmandu in the same helicopter to rescue Muna.
Kurumwang has been taken to Thapathali Charity Maternity Hospital in Kathmandu. Earlier too, women were rescued from various places in Tumbawa and taken to Kathmandu.
